Cycle London to Paris 2015

Join Team CAAT in the saddle from 11th – 15th September 2015 and cycle between two of Europe’s most famous cities.

Whether you’re a weekend wheeler or a Wiggins wannabe, take on this challenge of a lifetime; one of the great cycling events in Europe and the best way to see the beautiful countryside and iconic cities on both sides of the Channel.

The challenge

You'll cycle from the iconic city of London to Paris, the city of love and fashion.

You’ll ride through the lush, rolling countryside of Kent before hopping on the ferry to France.

Then, leaving the coast behind you, cycle through quiet French villages and towns on country roads before reaching the finishing line under the majestic Eiffel Tower.

After four full days in the saddle, the sight of the Eiffel Tower will evoke a huge sense of achievement, as will the knowledge that by taking part in this challenge, you’re helping Cornwall Air Ambulance save lives in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

What will the ride be like?

Anybody can take part in this challenge; you definitely don’t need to be a pro cyclist! The ride is designed to be achievable by anyone, so long as you put in the training.

Traditionally this ride attracts a mixed group of cyclists, from those starting out to everyday riders, so you will likely find others who cycle at your pace.

You’ll be cycling between 50 and 90 miles per day, covering 295 miles in total. Day one has some strenuous hills but the rest of the ride is mostly undulating.

There is no upper age limit for this trip but all participants must be at least 18 at the date of departure.

There will be a rest break approximately every 20 miles (though there’s no problem if you need to take more stops).

A support vehicle will be bringing up the rear of the group, ensuring nobody gets left behind. The support team are also there to carry out any repairs that need to be made to your bike and carry spare parts.

Your fundraising covers your trip costs, so to register for this amazing challenge costs just £149. We ask you to fundraise at least £1,700 for Cornwall Air Ambulance. If you've never done that level of fundraising before, don't worry - we can give you loads of help with your fundraising and you'll be suprised just how quickly the money can come in.
