Community Groups

Part of the Cornish Community

The Cornwall Air Ambulance flies around 1000 missions a year and has proven itself over the past 25 years to be an invaluable part of the county’s emergency services, as well as an integral part of the community.

Without financial support from central government, fundraising is absolutely vital to keep our helicopter flying, and we are very fortunate to receive great support from community groups across the county.

If you are a member of a community group, church, or sports club who raises money for charity, then please consider supporting the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

If your community group would like to get involved with Cornwall Air Ambulance, please speak to a member of the fundraising team by calling 01637 88 99 26 or email us.

Community Talks

Our Fundraising team are more than happy to talk to your members about the vital work we do. From a quick 5 minute talk to an after-dinner speech, we love getting the message out about the work of the charity, and our talks are fun and interactive.

We are happy to come to your usual meeting place, or alternatively, we love our fundraisers to visit us at our airbase for a chance to see the helicopter they help fund!

Charity of the Year

Does your community group choose a charity of the year? If so, please do consider us. Whether it's holding fundraising events in aid of the charity, volunteering your time, or donating money, we would be very pleased to have you on board.

Sponsor Equipment

Your community group may like to fundraise towards a specific goal, perhaps to provide a piece of lifesaving equipment for our aircraft. With the severity of the incidents we attends, we are always looking for ways to ensure our patients get the best care possible. We always have a sponsorship 'wish list' of items the Paramedics have identified would further enhance patient care.

In the summer of 2012, Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club donated £4,500 to Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust to buy a Video Laryngoscope - used to allow paramedics to look down the throats of patients having trouble breathing. Lion Phil Bunt, President, said: “It gives us great pleasure to know we’ve bought something helpful and of real value."

Not all items cost this much money - we have a 'wish list' of a wide variety of items. For further information, speak to the fundraising team on 01637 88 99 26 or email us.

Hold an Event in aid of us

From a cake sale or coffee morning to a sponsored head shave or dance-a-thon, we'd love you to hold an event in aid of us and can provide you with any resources you might need.

There's more information and help on how to organise a fundraising event in aid of Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust here.

We are always looking for volunteers to help, and the charity simply wouldn't be able to survive without the hard work, generosity and enthusiasm of our volunteers.

Could your community group donate their time volunteering in one of our shops, at our offices, at an event, or supermarket bag pack? Or perhaps your group has a particular passion for pastry, or are brilliant bakers of buns?! If so, please get in touch!
