Truro Half Marathon Supports CAAT

In this Olympic year, the competitors taking part in the Truro Half Marathon had two reasons to feel good.

Whether beating their personal best or simply crossing the finish line, the runners’ sense of achievement was boosted by the fact the event raised a brilliant £500 for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Diane Boardman, Race Director at Truro Running Club said: “We seek to raise funds for a worthy cause each year, and are absolutely delighted to be able to support such a great Cornish charity. We know that every one of the 542 finishers of this year’s race were very supportive of the choice of charity."

The popular and well-supported event had a real carnival atmosphere, with hundreds of supporters gathered on the Piazza and around the tough route to cheer the runners on. The

Race sponsor Andy Goundry of GoundryPearce Estate Agents said: ”Supporting a Cornish charity was very important to us, as we are very much an independent Cornish firm. We hope to continue our association with the event in 2013 when we hope we can once again raise funds for a Cornish cause."
