Poldarks Cornwall Harvest Celebrations

Following the critical acclaim of the first Poldark Grand Ball and Gala Dinner on March 5th 2016, PoldarksCornwall.com are delighted to announce a Harvest themed weekend with a Grand Ball featuring as the social high point on the saturday night.  Festivities commence:

Evening of Friday 9th September with a chance to dress down and dance the night away at The Balmaidens Ball a night of CORNISH COUNTRY DANCE & HOG ROAST and experience life as a miner or bal maiden, a seiner or fishwife celebrating the closing of summer and the gathering of the harvest with the "Lower Orders"! ( Price includes, welcome drink and cornish buffet supper)

Saturday 10th September We will take you on an excursion via Holywell Bay where much of series two has been filmed, to Winston Graham's beloved Perranporth, the real 'Hendrawna Sands' where we will have morning coffee and a fascinating talk on the mining heritage of the real Wheal Leisure. Some shopping time and a walk to the Winston Graham memorial bench and coffee at the iconic Watering Hole. After this we will drive to St Agnes Head and take pictures on the hallowed spot of emotional closing scene of series one before visiting a working tin stream which featured in the original 1970's Poldark series. After a light lunch, In the afternoon take part in the dance workshops before lacing those corsets for a night of glitz and glamour at The Poldark Grand Harvest Ball to help us raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance at our auction onthe evening. We will be hoping for the pleasure of the company of some of our friends from the Poldark series. Welcome drinks and canapés will be served From 6.00pm. (Price includes welcome drink, three course meal coffee and first wine on table)

Sunday 11th September We will take you first to Charlestown harbour where many of the seafaring scenes continue to be filmed, after coffee we will drive via Caerhays estate originally home to the Trevanion family who appear in the later Poldark novels. We will then have lunch in Looe where Ross has some business interests before the highlight of our day: visiting an ancient estate and taking tea at a Cornish stately home. This unique day concludes with a walk through the woods to the magical Carnglaze Caverns for an evening of fun and food and Cornish Culture to celebrate the characters and stories of Winston Graham's Poldark's Cornwall A retrospective of our amazing weekend together and a sneak peak at tours for the coming week for those staying on. ( Price includes welcome drink, buffet supper and cream tea earlier)
