Free Prize Draw to Thank Our Groundcrew

Cornwall Air Ambulance is thanking its army of volunteers by entering them into a free prize draw to win a family break at Widemouth Bay Caravan Park, kindly donated by John Fowler Holidays.

One lucky 'Groundcrew' member will be selected at random to win a 3 or 4 night camping or touring stay at the beautiful Widemouth Bay Caravan Park, including full use of the facilities such as an indoor pool, kids' club and family entertainment.

All existing volunteers will be automatically entered into the draw, along with any new volunteers who sign up before entries close at 5pm on Saturday 12th July 2014.

If you're interested in volunteering call Jackie, volunteer coordinator, on 01637 889926 or pop into any of our shops.

Jackie Eastwood, volunteer coordinator, said: "Our Groundcrew collectively donated over 50,000 hours of their time to the charity last year alone. In financial terms, that represents a saving of well over £300,000 to the charity in staff costs.

"We regularly hold special events to thank our volunteers, but this time we wanted to give a little extra back to the people who give so much to the charity. We really could not exist without our Groundcrew.

"A huge thank you must go to John Fowler Holidays. Not only do their Cornish sites support this charity regularly through collection jars and events, but they also donated this wonderful prize."

About Groundcrew

'Groundcrew' is the new name for Cornwall Air Ambulance volunteers, symbolising just how vital these teams are to the charity and its lifesaving operations.

Volunteering is a brilliant way to help Cornwall Air Ambulance by giving the gift of time, perhaps if you are unable to make a financial donation, or just want to take a more 'active' approach to supporting the charity.

You can give as much or as little time as you like, on a regular or ad-hoc basis and a range of roles are available in our shops, at events and at our head office. There is a role to suit everyone, whether you enjoy meeting our supporters and being the public face of the charity, or prefer to work in the background supporting our operations.

No previous experience is required as full training and support will be given. Volunteering can be a brilliant way to help your community, meet new people, and develop your skills.
