Win A Car, Keep Us Flying!

One of Cornwall’s most respected family businesses are showing their commitment to the local community by donating a car worth £10,000 to the Cornwall Air Ambulance summer prize draw.

Hawkins Motor Group has given the charity a brand new Peugeot 107 family hatchback that What Car described as a ‘cheeky looking runabout with low running costs’.

Director for Hawkins, Johnny Hawkins, said: “We’re proud to be a family business at the heart of the Cornish community.

“We are now celebrating our 80th year of serving the Cornish motorist and supporting local Cornish charities.

“We know just how important the Air Ambulance is to saving lives in Cornwall and hope the new Peugeot 107 will be a great incentive for people to buy the Air Ambulance’s Grand Summer Prize Draw tickets.

“Fingers crossed this prize helps to raise lots of money for this fantastic cause.”

The car was on display at the new Cornwall Air Ambulance shop in St Austell where it took centre stage at the recent opening and also at the Cornwall Festival of Transport.

Susie Smith, Fundraising Manager for the charity said: “We are really excited that the Hawkins Motor Group has been generous enough to donate this amazing prize, and obviously, it’s red, just like our iconic helicopter.

“The Hawkins Group is such a respected company in Cornwall that to be chosen by them feels like a testament to the vital, lifesaving work that we do as a charity.

“The car isn’t the only great prize we have on offer however.

“Also up for grabs is a stay at the beautiful Rosevine Hotel and also a VIP tour of the Classic Air Force and a flight in one of their vintage planes.”

Tickets are on sale at Cornwall air Ambulance shops throughout the county, from charity volunteers at summer events or by calling the charity HQ on 01637 889926. There's more information here.
