London Wasps Return for Festival of Rugby

Following the success of last year's charity rugby match, the Wasps Legends v St Agnes Barbarians rematch has now been planned.

Cornwall Air Ambulance is the chosen charity for this year's event. In 2012, the charity-funded Cornwall air ambulance helicopter attended 55 sporting injuries, including incidents at rugby matches. The speed of the service - combined with the comparatively smooth mode of transport - makes the air ambulance perfect for attending sporting injuries which may involve spinal injuries.

This year's game is taking place on Saturday 11th May from 10:30am. The day promises to be bigger and better than last year with an all day beer festival, live music, entertainment from Cornwall's own Kernow King, free children's play area, park and ride options, food and drink available all day, and of course the likes of former England World Cup winner Josh Lewsey.

Not forgetting the rugby action; the first game of the day will see the local Junior/Minis team kicking off at 10:30am, followed by Wasps Ladies v Penryn Ladies, and before the main game St Agnes will take on Roseland for the Arthur Ekins Cup. To wrap up the day's event the main game St Agnes Barbarians v Wasps Legends will kick off at 3:00pm.

Tickets are now available through the Hall for Cornwall in Truro, at £16 each.

Josh Lewsey will be joined on Friday 10th May by the Wasps Legends, including former England International Andy Gomarsall, and ex-Wasps star and France International Serge Betsen, when St Agnes Rugby Club hosts a black tie event. The Legends will be available for a Question and Answer session and the event will include a three-course meal.

Tickets for the Friday event are now on sale £55 each, with tables of 10 available. For more details please contact SW1 Promotions on 01209 613965.
