Cornish choir sings for charity

The Sounds & Sights of Cornwall concert at the Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay has raised £700 for various local charities, including the Cornwall Air Ambulance. The £700 raised has also been match funded by Barclays bank.

This is the fourth time the choir has supported the Joe Way appeal which donates money to different charities and was set up when the Newquay toddler died 4 years ago.

Choir chairman Rob Spowart said: “It was the first time both us and the cinema had done anything like this but it went really well. We would like to thank the cinema for their support”.

After concert goers nominated charities, a draw concluded who would benefit. The charities which will benefit are Cornwall Air Ambulance, Cornwall Hospice Care, Little Harbour, RNLI and The Sunrise Centre - Oncology team at Treliske.

Joe’s Dad Matt Way said “We are really grateful for all the support we have had over the years from the choir and we are very excited to be able to donate money to the listed charities Joe’s appeal supports”
