Coodes Keep Cornwall Air Ambulance Flying

A firm of solicitors in Cornwall has raised over £6500 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

This year’s Royal Cornwall Show provided the perfect backdrop for Coodes Solicitors to present the charity with a cheque for £6561 following a year of fundraising.

Coodes’ Managing Partner, Jeremy Harvey, who handed over the cheque said: “The Cornwall Air Ambulance is one of Cornwall’s most vital emergency services and all of the Coodes team are delighted to fundraise to help keep them flying.

“Staff across the county have thrown themselves into activities over the last 12 months, taking part in everything from bike rides and royal baby sweepstakes to zumba-thons.

“We even had a staff tuck-shop which was really popular.”

With the arrival of two new helicopters at the end of 2014, the air ambulance is currently looking at increasing the hours of operation to enable it to fly into the hours of darkness.

“The decision by the charity to look to extend their flying hours is, I believe, universally welcomed across the region so we are really proud to be able to support them at this exciting time.” Jeremy added.

On hand to collect the cheque was the much loved charity mascot Hercules and Head of Fundraising Susie Smith, who said: “I must say a huge thank you to the Coodes team for raising such an incredible amount for the air ambulance.”

“This money will really help us in our mission of saving time and saving lives.”
