Air Ambulance Shortlisted at Cornwall Business Awards

The team behind Cornwall Air Ambulance has been shortlisted in three categories at the 2015 Cornwall Business Awards.

The awards recognise innovation and achievement in Cornish business.

The charity is once again up for Best Third Sector Business, the award it won in 2014. The category recognises charities and social enterprises that demonstrate success and a clear vision for the future.

The charity has also been shortlisted in the Employer of the Year category, whilst PR and Events Officer Tom Matthews has been shortlisted for Young Business Person of the Year.

Cornwall Air Ambulance Chief Executive, Paula Martin, said: “To be shortlisted in three categories really is testament to the work of the whole team at Cornwall Air Ambulance.

“We had to think long and hard about defending our Best Third Sector Business title, but the last year has outperformed 2013, both in terms of fundraising and impact, so it felt the right thing to do.

“The success of our fundraising is only possible through the talent, dedication and motivation of our whole team of staff and volunteers. We realise that our best assets are our people and to be shortlisted for Best Employer is a lovely reflection of our team ethos.

“We are also thrilled that Tom has been shortlisted as Young Businessperson of the Year. Tom has a very mature head on young shoulders and we are proud of the work he does at both national and local level for the charity.

"It’s a privilege to find oneself managing a team of this talent and ability in the workplace.”

The award winners will be announced at an event at the St Mellion International Resort on 14th May 2015.
