Air Lifted Patients

Have you been air lifted by Cornwall Air Ambulance?

Could you tell your story so we can tell others what a difference the Cornwall Air Ambulance has made to you? Our air ambulance helicopter is very busy, attending an average of four or five call outs a day, sometimes and many as 10. Our single helicopter covers all of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and when needed overlaps with Devon Air Ambulances to ensure the best possible service and contribution to emergency care.

Do you remember the flight?
Many of the patients carried on board Cornwall’s air ambulance don’t recall very much about the journey, often because they were too poorly or even unconscious at the time. Those that do remember the trip to hospital, tell us stories that are engraved in their memory, sometimes emotional, often funny, but always interesting.

We need patients who are prepared to come forward and tell their story.
That’s because the charity has to respect patient confidentiality, and our relationship with our paramedics and the local hospitals is a professional one. We depend on patients who have been air lifted, and their families, to get in touch, as many of you already do, with your lovely thank you letters and messages for the paramedic team.

Would your story be suitable for our website or magazine?
Cornwall's air ambulance helicopter may be taking part in television documentaries and other films, concentrating on the type of work that our air ambulance helicopter and its crew carry out on a day to day basis.
Together with our magazines and the website, you can help us to feature stories about the people this service has helped, together with stories from their families and friends.
